Hope everyone is in great spirits! I worked as the Unit Publicist on Sparkle this past Fall, recently I attended the Hollywood Movie Premiere for SPARKLE, and we all had a beautiful time celebrating the life of a legend!
My Favorite On Set Memory!
Whitney Houston sang “His Eye is on the Sparrow” in the movie Sparkle. When filming you have to do multiple takes of one scene, so she had to keep singing the song over and over. The first time she sang the song a few tears fell from people’s faces, the second time a few more tears, by the third time, the presence of the Lord had filled the atmosphere so great, everywhere you looked people had tears and then Whitney finished singing and was rejoicing in the Spirit. It was so beautiful, someone even came up to me and said I don’t know why I’m crying but I am, I said, ‘Honey that’s called the Holy Ghost.’
I was blessed to have the experience of working with Whitney Houston, and even more blessed to experience her at such a wonderful time in her life. She was such a joy to work with. I had heard from many people that she was great to work with but to experience it myself, was priceless. Whitney’s smile could brighten your day. Her presence was regal and angelic, while still being extremely down to earth. I am more than grateful to have these beautiful memories.
